Need Ocean Fluke rod recommendation

I would like to pick up a new casting/conventional factory rod for jigging a bucktail in the Ocean, Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you don't mind China made, I like the Tsunami Slow pitch jigging rod. It comes in 6'6", 6'8" and 7' versions. The lure and line weight increase as the length does. I also have a St Croix that is USA made. They are both excellent. The new St Croix's are imported in some cases. The Slow pitch rods are acid wrapped and I like the actions they have when jigging. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I have recently been enjoying both SPJ style rods Palmarius and for the bargain Goofish .

I have had the Palmarius #3 and #4 out on Nantucket Shoals for fluke and bsb and the Goofish yellow and blue ( same weight as the Palmarius) in the Gulf of Maine for haddock, pollack, ling cod, and whiting.

Each brand performed great. I wanted to run the Goofish through the paces up north to see if I could bring some flaws out and they went through admirably . They can come fluking now .

I would recommend both brands based on my experiences thus far .

Those super-colorful Goofish rods are pretty cool looking.

Another AliExpress rod that you won’t see here, but gets EXCELLENT reviews is the Kuying Blue Dancer Slow Pitch line. They were once in the $300-range, but have come down to a more realistic price in the past year.

Their “Vitamin Sea” (or is it “Vitamin C?” I can’t recall) series is also highly spoken of and not as pricey.

The entire Kuying line of rods is said to be "the good stuff," but personally, I cannot buy a rod without having it in my hands first. This is why feedback like yours is valuable.

You already have a reel in mind? Because if not, Hah! No one can spend your money better than me! How mucha you wanna spend?

BTW, I love the BH CH 6'8" for deep fluke with a 4-8oz load. Its my go-to.

Well about a month ( 2-3 now prob) and $50 on AliExpress and the world is your oyster.
The blue pink combo looks nice on my BHCS though.

Here's what’s sitting on my BH CS:

OG Daiwa Zillion Coastal with the following mods:

Kawa 100mm curved carbon fiber handle
Gomexus 27mm "soft touch" knobs
Weihai Tackle carbon fiber drag star with sky-blue anodized aluminum bearing cover
Smooth Drag Carbontex drag washers
Daiwa metal factory drag washers lapped super flat with 600-grit paper taped to a glass pane
Full Ceramic bearing on LW worm gear (a metal bearing is a waste of time here)
4.9:1 gearset from the OG Zillion Crazy Cranker
Boca Orange Seal 1/2-ceramic spool bearings
Hedgehog Studios sky-blue anodized aluminum Mag Adjusting Wheel center screw
Hedgehog Studios sky-blue anodized aluminum hex-type frame screw set
Kawa sky-blue anodized aluminum handle nut kit
Full lube job with TSI-321 in the bearings and green Yamalube grease everywhere else
Sufix 832 "Coastal Camo" 20lb braid

Just "a bit" more than $50, LOL!

To call this reel "Sweetness" is a gross understatement. One of my most favoritest reels.

Hot damn, agreed very nice work sir . I enjoy seeing the customization that you put into most if not all of your reels Pete. I really appreciate what you do and the information you put out when you do so. How long did it take you to assemble the parts to muscle car your zillion?

I have an Ocea Conquest 301PG on the way ( I know $$, but I responsibly sold offsome things and price shopped) for the Shoals since I spend a fair amount of time out there and have wanted to check them out since they are similar to my beloved OJ’s. I will put up my findings when I receive it and get some cranks and strain under my belt.
