North Shore Fluke

Nontypical

New Angler
I went out this past Wednesday at first light in the fog searching for fluke. Unfortunately 3 draggers had the same idea and were all over the shoal. I guess they figured mid week in the fog and nobody would be there. 1 keeper and a few shorts. No bait seen. Tough fishing. Plenty of small porgies and sea robins were dead floating all over the area. Very discouraging.
With perfect conditions in the forecast for yesterday, we headed out again, but further west onto another shoal. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Lock and load for the next 3 hours and we left them biting. Not as much bait seen as last week, but they were spitting up sand eels. We ended the day with 6 fluke up to 22” and 4 very large porgies that fell to our fluke rigs.
