North Shore Fluking

[Bachala]

Fished from Oyster Bay to Lloyds Neck and Northport Stacks for fluke. Nothing but shorts. Only measurable fish was 17" but looked quite large after pulling mostly 10-12 inche fluke. Fished the entire incoming tide on Sunday. Not much of a drift and not many signs of life out there. Found a nice life jacket floating outside of Huntington on ride home.

Hey Bachala, not much more happening to the east. I got lucky and had one bite from a suicidal fluke off of Short Beach and it was a 19 1/2 keeper yesterday. But it was a grind. No bait to be found.

Ohh did I mention I lost a life jacket? Just kidding.

a 12" fluke I hooked coughed up a white 4inch gulp grub. Thought I had a nice one on the line until it started to peel away from the boat.... 3 foot doggie.
