I was feeling pretty good about "knowing" what the bass were up to the past few days, but I got edumacated the morning. The Romans used to greet conquering heroes with a Remember thou art Mortal! mantra, and Nana used to say in Neapolitan, Don't spit in the sky because it comes down and hits you in the face! Both were applicable this AM as I had one of those days that makes me want to see if @JackPrintMD has an extra set of golf clubs to sell to me.
Had another foggy and relatively calm morning today so I hit the mudflats, working them very hard for a good 90 min. Fish were around, but they had their way with me toying with me and my popper. Probably had over 20 casts that had fish showing interest, 5 of those casts had contact, 2 had hookups, and 1 fish was landed, 18”.
Most of the interest was from sub-20" fish, but of the 5 larger fish that showed interest, only one made contact, and that was to TAILSLAP THE PLUG BACK AT ME!!! At that point I heard Grandma and decided to call it a morning...
