So I’m not usually one to bellyache about refs but 34 seconds into a game and 2 guys touched crosby and they both get penalties??? Thats as blantantly bas of ref calls as Ive ever seen

I didn't think they had it in them after going down 3 games to 1. Pens had a ton of experience and truth be told they played better all around. The Rangers better get their game together if want to beat Carolina.

I totally agree. They were outplayed again last night. But getting past Malkin and Crosby is key. This series will build confidence!

Totally outplayed again. I don't get it with this team. Sometimes they look top notch, and then they look flat and lifeless. Under 20 shots will rarely be enough to win a playoff hockey game against a top team. The NYR played well in 2 periods of game 1, and game 4. Otherwise, it's been an all out assault on Igor. Where is the urgency, and speed and offense. It sometimes seems like we can no longer make simple tape to tape passes, and elect to dump up the boards, or pass into traffic creating turnovers. It is going to take a full team effort to win game 6 at home. Yes, this team is very young and this run was not expected, but those excuses don't mean a thing if they fail to show up and compete again. Someone put up the Bread signal while we are at it!

I totally agree. No taking the body at all. I saw stick swinging all night. We need Messier back. I thought Krieder was terrible last night.
I still think that the Rangers are the better team. I can only hope that they show up.

I missed game 5 as I was at my sons final school concert of the year and school career before heading off to college ?
I would expect them to show up on home ice and force a game 7

Congrats on your son! I hope you're right about tonight. So far they've played well in elimination games.

We have the better goalie but they play well at home. The Rangers are 1 1/2 goal underdogs but I'm confident they're going to win. They found their Grove last night.

They could have found their game just at the right time.

TB has the experience and a great goalie and the Rangers are peaking and have home ice. We will see what happens tomorrow night, but as long as they stay healthy this could be interesting.

I'm still not a fan of giving up way too many shots, but I cant argue the eventual outcome.
The NYR now go from back ups and third string goalies to arguably the best there is. This will be a very large hill to climb against the 2 time defending champs. Lets hope TB had a bit too much rest, and we can keep the momentum in game 1.

@AllyKat We have a pretty good goalie. If you look at their shots per game you'll find they won more games with less shots. Crazy? But true.

They need to play their game and they can beat them, just as they did during the season. The garden is going to be crazy!

As a life-long Ranger fan, I'm controlling my excitement, I've been burned before...

That being said, I've always believed that a key factor during the Playoffs is a Hot Goalie. So many times in the past that has proven itself, like Ken Dryden back in the day, totally flummoxing the Bruins to the point where that Garbage Goal Scorer Esposito smashed his stick into pieces against the glass behind the net screaming aloud, "You thieving giraffe!!" after Dryden plucked the puck off of his stick...

I know they are ahead of schedule with the rebuild but now that they are at this point they have to go for and can't just be happy to be here...
I agree with AK that maybe TB had too much rest? Let's hope.

They need to stay sharp and focused because TB is NOT gonna look like that again on Friday.
