We have a 2020 Hyundai Sante Fe, had an appointment at the dealer yesterday, State inspection & free oil change. I had received the same letter from the State & it talked about a anti theft software update to be installed by the dealer. The service writer said my vehicle wasn't involved, he also said he heard that Allstate insurance will be sending a letter to the affected vehicle owners that a stolen vehicle claim could be denied if the anti theft software was not installed. Again, he was not talking for Allstate, just what he had "heard"

I have a Kia model & year "that's affected", but in reality it's not because mine is a push button start. I confirmed this with the dealer.

If you need to turn an ignition key to start the car, you're affected. The hack involves destroying the key slot and then twisting the ignition collar.
