I inadvertently had "Acorn Smoked" Steak. 2 years ago, another big "mast year", a squirrel, unbeknownst to me, stashed a bunch of acorns below the burners in my grill. As I started cooking the meat, the acorns started to burn, so they added a nice, "acorny" flavor to the steaks.

Was quite tasty, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it again...

ACORNS need to be double boiled, to rid of TANNINS … the same chemicals used to Tan hides … can kill horses…

they like similar to Filberts/ Hazelnuts… cellie…

Town Council Pumpkin Carving Festival in the Town Square. Starting tomorrow night all 300 of them will be lite up through Halloween......

Snacks, drinks & music provided free of charge.
