The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) and the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council (MAFMC) are seeking public comment on a Bluefish Amendment. The Amendment considers changes to: fishery goals and objectives allocation between the recreational and commercial sectors commercial allocation between states a rebuilding plan quota transfer processes how the FMP accounts for management uncertainty provisions for de minimis states Public comment can be given at any of the five virtual public hearings. On April 1st from 6-8pm, there will be a public hearing webinar focused on the New England states. The public hearing schedule and information on how to register can be found at this link. Written public comment can also be submitted through April 23rd.
