June 7th and 8th ...... I have to be careful, sometimes when I start I can't stop. I have a fishing problem and I'm OK admitting it.

?

I know the feeling. Once I start fishing I just can't seem to stop.

My addiction is not a problem. :p

Bad week so far for me. Only got out three trips this week so far. I was fishing Saturday, Sunday, Monday and came THIS close to going on Tuesday, but the weather report had me hesitant. Some yard work and crops needed tending so I did that. Today, does not look good for me either. I am jonesing already?. Knowing That I have (non fishing) plans on Saturday makes me twitch. Thankfully there is alcohol involved.

Luckily I know that I will be fishing on Friday after work, and all day Sunday. Friday is the one year anniversary of when I snapped (detached) my bicep. I ripped it completely off at the dock and still went fishing! Snagged about a half dozen of elusive (that day) bunker, set the hook and chunked them up. Reeled in a few dogfish with my dangling bicep, but no bass.

Yea...I don't have a problem :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Ouch, how’d you do that Mike...I didn’t remember hearing about that?

I tore it mostly at work moving heavy plates and chambers around trying to get an order out before we closed up for vacation. 150-250 pound parts, did not use the best technique (in a rush, used back instead of brain) to shuffle them around for leak testing.

Felt 'weird' for a couple of days. Went to go fishing on a buddy's boat that night. We were loading the boat. Ironically when he handed me his two pound cigar box it detached. I seldom let anyone around me know if I am hurting, but in this case I let out a good "OW" and dropped the cigar case.

He looks at me and asked what is wrong. I told him I think I just tore my bicep. He looks me dead in the eye and said 'Can you sang bunker? you are useless to me if you can't snag bunker'. God I love him more than my own brother!

I assured him that I could and we departed. We snagged bunker (I got six, he only got four ;) ) then he put us on the spot and I set the hook. That really hurt.

As we chunked I watched my bicep retract towards my elbow for the next couple of hours. Kind of looked like a snake moving around inside my arm. Uncomfortable to say the least, but I never requested to head back. When it came time to leave I tried to pull the hook, but the lack of power and severe pain made me stop. I did manage to reel in and deal with two large dogfish.

A couple of days later I was in surgery. While the hood was open the surgeon reattached the bicep, repaired the torn labrum, repaired the rotator cuff with four anchors (old injury) and for good measure cleaned up all the bone spurs and other debris that was in there.

My surgeon is a great guy and avid fisherman, dare I say almost as obsessive as I am. He promised that I would be ready for late blackfishing last year (with restrictions such as no anchor pulling) , and without restrictions to start 2019. It effectively shut me down for the summer and most of the fall.

My first trip back was on my surgeon's boat. Back bay trip, casting into reeds. We had fun, so much fun I'll be on his boat when we do our Montauk trip next month. ?

I tested his theory in February in a much needed Florida fishing trip and all went well. A little balky but otherwise fine. So far this year I feel great. The shoulder has not felt this good in 10+ years(y). (since the last surgery:rolleyes:)

I also dealt with achilles tendon surgery from December 2017. I was just starting to get around after three months off my feet. All in all I am SO glad 2018 is in the books!!!!

Playing hurt Koz, props for the Hockeyesque Attitude!!

Mediocre morning, only 3 bass, biggest @ 22", but that was #261 for the season, not bad considering they didn't arrive in the backyard until 5/30. Who ever said retirement sucks and they miss work????

LOL, it's called a Dry Erase Clipboard on board... I have the measured length of everyone one too for my ME Volunteer Log Book initiative, which I do in a Excel Spreadsheet, 101 20" fish...

Took a quick spin around the Harbor today and picked up a couple, chart updated and improved. Numbers on top of bars are the number of fish at the size on the X-Axis (bottom).

No, graph is the size distribution to date, starting at 15/16". June is actually my best month, although September is good too. Fishing really plummets after October 1 and is dead by the 2nd week.
Oh damn, I didn't have my cheaters on and didn’t see the date on the top of you chart clearly. I always forget my cheaters when I go on the boat. I just recently started to use them. My arms aren’t long enough anymore!??
