Anyone have any experience with Pike through the ice?

caught my first two this past january upstate in collins pond near scenectady .Im not much of a tip up watcher but doing that with live shiners was the only way to go absolutly no intrest in anything jigged caught pickeral that way.the pike were 30 and 33 inches
