Port Jeff area. Birds and black fish report

Pretty much the same report as I posted last Friday. Fished the Port Jeff area. Started the day chasing the birds. There were birds diving, and small surface splashes everywhere.

Lots of rain bait in the water. Small blues however they would not touch anything. Switched to poppers and they would follow the lure back to the boat but would not strike it.

There were also some small pods of bunker around. Nothing rushing them at all.

On to the black fish grounds. Just like Fridays report. Once again hard to get the boat to settle back on the anchor. Many small fish today. Had about a dozen that stopped growing at 15-1/2 to 15-3/4 inches. Non stop action just no keepers.

Make sure you have plenty of bait. Used about half a five gallon pail of green crabs today.

Loads of boats on the water. Cant beat a 70 degree day in November. The sound was dead flat.

One word of caution. Had two or three boats cross over my anchor line. That after telling them I have an anchor out and they were running over the line. One was too close for comfort.

I was surprised that he did not catch the anchor line in his prop.

No problem with boats fishing close but let's make sure it is a safe close.
