Port Jeff, Saturday

So NOAA said wind was going to blow saturday afternoon and they weren't lying. Early morning launch from Pt Jeff ramp, weather was absolutely beautiful. Sun, no wind and the Sound was flat calm. Found some structure, dropped the hook, dunked some crabs and caught some fish. Couldn't seem to build a strong bite even though bottom was real nice. Never really had instant action through out the outgoing tide, certainly not a lock and load day. Made a few adjustments to cover different bottom and thanks to my buddy Dan managed to put a few in the box. Late morning wind began to pick up and by early afternoon started to dread the ride home. Pulled the plug around 1 and surprisingly had an uneventful (dry) ride back to the ramp. Glad to get out, opportunities are passing fast and fortunately had enough to make a fine fish chowder. Great getting out with Dan and Bucktail ll, always a good time fishing with the band. Lol Hope mother nature allows a few more trips before the fat lady sings. There and back again safely, day out with friends, life is good. Now time to rake leaves.......
