Post up up your 2019/2020/2021/2022 Blackfishing Pix/Reports/Adventures/Musings

I'm am certainly thankful for my friends and crew. I can be tough on them (sometimes). But no tougher than I am on myself. Those that know me know that's a fact. Anyway, Merry Christmas to you all, I thank you for your reading of my rambling baloney, your board participation in the past and hopefully, the future as well.

Have a joyous Holiday season!

Wow!! Looks phenomenal. I think I have some Tog left, I'll have to try this one out!
You guys have all made excellent use of the remaining Tog stashed in your respective freezers. Thank God for the vacuum sealing devices.

In my case I have so many family members that literally rely on me for fish that my 2023 stock is now gone. Just gave away my last piece 2 weeks ago.

I guess I have to get to work on a new supply!!! Can't start soon enough to suit me.:)

The tog rods are strung and ready, new custom Abu mini-togger reel added to the arsenal, rigs tied, jigs purchased, Chartplotters loaded with some fresh numbers to the West (for bailouts), boat is loaded with its Winter fishing gear - LFGT! (Mets fan here - others please use your imagination).

Can't wait for Tog season! I still have some tuning up to do on Tog ge

Here's one that my family really likes. Blackfish would be the preferred fish for this:

Lep’s Asian Fish Soup

3lbs fish fillet cut into cubes or small chunks
6-10 Cleaned Shrimp (21-25 count/lb-size is ideal)
1 Medium Onion, diced
4 Cloves of Garlic, crushed
3 Potatoes cut into large chunks
1 Carrot – fine julienned/slivered
1 Stalk of Celery – fine julienned/silvered
1 Teaspoon Thyme
½ Teaspoon dried Basil
1 Tablespoon Fresh Grated Ginger (Or more – to taste)
Two tablespoons sliced Scallions (Green Onions)
Salt/Pepper to Taste
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
½ Bottle Clam Juice
Splash Soy Sauce (Lite Sodium)
Splash Ponzu Sauce
Teaspoon of Oyster Sauce
6 Cups of water

Heat oil in cooking pot. Add onions and garlic – sauté briefly, until onions go clear. Add water, potatoes, carrot, celery, thyme, basil, ginger, clam juice. Simmer for approx. 20 mins – or until carrots and celery are tender.

Add fish and shrimp and cook for approx. 15 mins or until fish can be flaked.

Add soy, ponzu and oyster sauces – stir in and taste broth. Additional of any or all three can be added to taste.

Add salt/pepper to taste. Sprinkle sliced scallions on top of served portion. We like this dish served over a scoop of rice. Very tasty and easy!
