Post your 2019-2024 Fluke Pix & Trip Reports Here!

I'm hopeful too. I'm thinking we need something closer to home. But they were chewing like they're getting ready to move.

I figured there was an offshore storm brewing when I saw the upcoming forecast for fairly light winds but moderate seas for the upcoming week.

I sure hope it doesn't turn off the Fluke bite as I have 2 Montauk charters scheduled for late next week. Hopefully Earl stays far enough to the east to not upset the Fluke too much!!
I don't like what I see for Wednesday wind wise ??

I know, Matt. Looks like we are on the edge, once again. Generally speaking, most of the late season Fluke action is close to the point but the offshore drops also hold some potential. So, like always I will have to wait until the 6pm update on Tuesday before making the call.

If Montauk is out of the question, I think at least 2 of my other fares would be satisfied with a Sea Bass Trip in the Sound. We could also mix it up a little with some of the Blues and perhaps a Striper in the Gut. Let me know if you are interested in the alternate plan or just prefer to wait for Tog to open up.

That's fine, I'm not picky. I'll wait to hear from you Tuesday.

A few Flukey dukey caught by the A-team this season. All small fish nothing over 6lbs as fluking seems to be on the decline in my area

Hit the Deep today with George and Kevin - beautiful ocean all day. Right off, I hit a 3.5lb and 6lb-even fish, and thought, O.K., here we go!

But it was not to be as the bite disappeared until later on, well into the afternoon tide. That's a lot of time spent picking through shorts and assorted non-flat trash fish. We did finally get a bite going around 1:30 - and worked our way to six keepers, including George's 6lb12oz beauty. The results weren't what we had hoped for, but we all fished VERY hard, not even stopping for lunch 'til well into the afternoon. My 9-trip full boat limit string is now broken, but hey it was great fun while it lasted. :)

Frankly, I think "Tropical Storm Seven" will probably end the 2022 fluke season - and so if this is our last deep jigging trip for the year, at least we took some really nice fish among today's catch.

Usually a good sign when the first fish of the day is a solid keeper

Followed up almost immediately with a fat 6lb beauty!

And don't believe the school of modern psychology's nonsense - a bit of "negative reinforcement" DOES produce results - why, just look at "George's Corner" at the end of this trip - a BIG improvement, indeed! And I count THAT among my greatest achievements this season. 8-)

And the reward..............

Sautéed with onion, tomato, and mushrooms.

Looks great! Some capers and chopped hot cherry peppers would also go good with that recipe.

And for the record, have you, Georgie, the Chef and Capt Mike aboard this season is what made the Leprechaun’s fluke season such a rousing success!
Those items will be added the next time. Thank you for those additions.

Thank you for the kinds words. Truly appreciated the opportunity this year!

Thank you for the invites and your expertise on the Fluke grounds. I'm glad to hear you are not yet tired of all my "same old stories"!!!!

Soon it will be my turn to reciprocate with some feisty Tog on the spinner! Get ready!
