Post your 2019-2024 Fluke Pix & Trip Reports Here!

Jeez, I thought I was the best fluke angler you know. . . oh well! 8-)

He called me today as well - he's a good dude.

Anyway, considering yesterday's meager pickings, I was more than happy to have Wifey's Ling Oreganata tonight, with coarse-cut Portobello mushrooms with garlic and EVOO, and broccoli rabe cooked in chicken stock. Tasted as good as it looks! She's really got this recipe "down!"

Left Port Jeff and went for fluke. Caught a beautiful black sea bass (returned), a bluefish (returned) and sea robins (returned) . No fluke. The bait couldn't get down there and the sea robins were hitting the rigs. Some of the biggest sea robins I have seen. I was in no mood to clean fish, but I am going to have to try them. Everywhere else people seem to love them.

Next week I'll try again. Maybe this time I'll try for Stripers.

I need that recipe

Hi Benny - this one is very, very close:

Using Panko instead of bread crumbs makes it much lighter, and to me, tastier. We add a bit more lemon zest and juice and sometimes some chopped plum tomato and red onion - as above pics illustrate. Perfect toaster oven recipe. Super easy and fast. Delish!

I like the “my grounds” thing. ‘Bout time something got named after me. ?

Anyway, probably not going there on Sat myself.

in case anyone would like to know, John Skinner and Doc were out off of Montauk this morning, they almost had a full limit, lots of 18" fish caught, maybe it will pick up soon.

MTK is pretty good right now..I know a couple of commercials landing their easy limit..

today hit mid grounds around 60' no fluke ..went to "lep land " had two fluke to 5.5 lbs..that was it..drift died & so did the fluking..

I think there's fluke just maybe the big swell today kept them from biting ..

Thank you Richie. Did u give the sand drops a shot? Any love there? Or is that what you meant with your 60’ comment?

Tried again yesterday. A few fluke (returned..short), 2 Big black Sea bass (returned) and of course sea robins (returned). I thought it might not be a good day. The troller had just finished. Fish floating all over. Went to a couple of dead floaters and saw sea robins and Striped Bass, all dead. When we set up our drift, I was hopefully as Celtic Quest Joined us (further inshore and slightly east) and Osprey was right behind me. The Captain of the Osprey told the passengers it was a "bluebird day". It was a great day to be on the water. Next Weds I try for Striped bass.
