Post your 2019-2024 Fluke Pix & Trip Reports Here!

I'll keep it short. Another mega-effort, another strike-out. No keeps for Kenscot, Capt. Mike and I, fishing sand, broken bottom and the hard stuff. Switched it up and sailed off, pulling 25+ pcs of very decent ling, and some seriously nice Sea Bass - all of which we returned. Nearly killed us, as these were the big blue-heads. Who needs the agita coming back thru JI? Not I. But the Jersey and Conn boats? No worries, go ahead and keep 'em. Reason #549 for wanting to leave NY.

What fish we have caught are not coming up icy cold, so I really don't know what the issue is - reading plenty of bait, so it ain't that. Just not time yet, I guess. Shaping up to be a carbon copy of last season's start. With this late start of the fluking becoming a trend, its beginning to look like I don't have to put the boat in the water 'til July 4th, next season. Who'da thunk that, 20 years ago? ☹

yup seems to be a repeat of last year for us...fish being caught east & west of us...

as far as the seabass go..some quality fish right now..I give it a week after it opens & most of the keepers size fish will be gone..unless it blows east 20kts LOL..

going again as soon as the east wind is gone..

Hit the north shore today with my younger son, Port Jeff to can 7, lots of shorts, some really nice c bass and 1 keeper fluke lost at the boat.
On the way back in, lots of rain bait and bunker, gonna switch over to bass until I hear anything different about the fluke, gonna trailer the boat up to R.I. next month, drop it in at Point Judy and run across to Montauk.
later.

Saturday June 13th, James chartered the Miss B for fluke and brought his crew Jayden, Sunny, Park and Lee. Put in a long day, logged a bunch of miles, tuff bite , guys scraped up 5 NY keepers up to 4# both in the bay and out front to the west Thank you guys for a fun day.

Went for fluke and Striped Bass with 3 other friends. Not one fluke. However, we did catch a number of bass from tiny to 30 inches. Some black sea bass too (all returned). Sea robins everywhere.

weather man was wrong LOL i should know better by now...15 to 20 kts heavy fog & nasty seas,,,fished half a day two dozen ling three fluke bunch of short seabass..

Richie - The weatherman has been wrong 75% of the time, so far this season. Were those three fluke keeps?

only one @ 21"...not on your spot west of it...all the bait & seabass gone...hoping its all the east wind & will come back with changing wind...fish were warm...

gave ocean fluke a try again today..I can say we did catch a few & we did have three keepers to 4lbs..ling for dinner again...seabass was off big from last week ...last week we were tossing back 2+ lb fish one after another ...today mostly shorts & not that many..

Short and sweet - Had Kenscot and Capt. Mike aboard today. Fished 65' crusty open bottom and some deeper hard stuff too. Boated a dozen flat ones, boxed 3 keeps - all by the Captain, as is only proper! Best two 5.3 and 5.4lbs.

Also, a half dozen ling and a few nice knuckleheads returned. Good thing too, because we were boarded by USCG and DEC (on the same boat), just offshore of JI. They were looking and measuring, but of course no illegal action on St. Lep's boat. Clean bill of health.

First tryout of my new Black Hole Challenger Bank 691UL - one word: AWESOME! Fished it the entire day. All keeps on the 2oz naked ball jig heads I had HTLureco make up for me - with 6" GULP! jerk shads and some local squid strip sweeteners.

I think things are about to pop!

Fished Port Jeff yesterday with my son and grandsons, small fleet at can 11, moved a little east, my grandson Brandon picked up a nice 24.5 in 6 lb fluke, with a 5 inch porgie in it's belly, Congrats Brandon on a nice catch.
That was it for the day, lots of shorts a few skates and a ton of robins.
Trolled for bass on the way back in, nada.
Was a nice fathers day afternoon.
