Gonna start collecting lead for my pour day. Hope the lead prices hasn't gone up @ the local scrap yard.
The past owner used give me lead for fish, but the new guy doesn't eat fish. :(

I don't really use sinkers anymore, still have stock. Plus about a pound or three of lead from my pellet gun trap and dud .22 bullets. Only use bucktails off the yak and rarely anchor the boat when I do use it three or four times a year. That could change as I age out and may have to do a bait and eight instead of chucking lures surfcasting. I always thought I would melt the stuff in an old pot on the barbecue, and then using one of those pointy fence posts in some damp garden soil, pour it into pyramids, but now they have those new fangled sinkers that really hold the bottom in the ocean.

30 to 40lbs

I'm gonna stop by tomorrow and see what they got.
I have about 50lbs, some are old codfish jigs, some 16 to 32 oz lead for tile fishing and about 3, 10 lb ingots my buddy gave me before he moved out to Oregon, along with a propane tank and melting pot, the propane tank was old and I mean old, I decided not to use it, I tried to get rid of it, but no one was taking them anymore, including the fire dept.
So I fired up the tank, little did I know that it was going to take 3 days for it to empty out, after an hour the tank froze up and no more propane would come out, learn something new everyday, after it was empty, I took the valve off, filled it with water and cut it half with my saws all, put it outside for bulk pickup, didn't last 20 minutes, the treasure hunter's came along and took it.
I have 4, 40lb tanks for my backup generator, I picked up a new melting furnace/pot, the heaviest lead I use is 8 oz, even those I use very rarely.

pic of the tank.
