Recommendations for braided lines in the 20 - 40 lb range.

I'm looking to change line on a bunch of inshore outfits. For the most part I have used Power Pro, I think the regular green color, maybe it's green moss? I have never had a problem with it. Just wondering what options are out there, and what benefit's there might be to them?

Also, what do you use for backing on the spool? On my small reels like the Calcutta 200D's or Daiwa Lexa WN 300H I like to use electrical tape as line capacity is an issue but on larger reels like the Avet SX models I am comfortable using a mono backing as capacity is not so much an issue. I have heard of some spray or other liquid you can apply on the spool? Anyone have any intell on that?

Thanks in advance.

I use PP 50 and greater on my conventionals in whichever color is on sale, but Suffix on my spinning reels @ 30 lbs, it's not as noisy going through the guides when you cast and seems to stand up better to the trials of constant casting than the PP.

As I've mentioned previously on reels that don't have "braid grippers" on the spool, fabric electrical tape works great and I never back things up because of the rare, but real possibility that a bluefin might grab one of my lures and I'll need those few extra seconds to crank up the boat for a chase...

I too never had an issue with PP. Always have moss green. Have noticed some switch over to Suffix for one reason or another.
