Red Light Cameras on Long Island

Do LIers have the same problem with electric scooters as we do in the city?

These guys are out of control! They are as fast as cars and dont require a license or registration. They ride with against and through traffic. Dont respect traffic lights or signs. Its nuts!

We have people with these motorized razor scooters commuting to work now. Some of those things are pretty fast! They think a helmet is going to save them....LOL

Bike lanes are everywhere........as Tony said, outer boroughs USED to be car centric. Now its Hipster/Migrant centric with traffic at a virtual standstill everywhere I go during the day.
 
The red light cameras were put in under the justification of public safety. The opposition claimed it was just about raising revenue. The truth is it does both. Several studies have shown that rear end crashes do increase, Tbone crashes decreased. I would certainly rather get my bumper dented than plowed into in the drivers door. Since the cameras were put in no one in my family has ever gotten a ticket. So if you do not want to be part of the counties revenue stream, the answer is simple. Don't run the light.

The cameras are so much more than lights
Roads that were and should be 35 mph are 25 and cameras at every block
Get caught short at a fast yellow 50.00
It’s a money grab pure and simple

how ya gonna like it if they go from 25 to say 20
And what’s stoping them
25 to 15 maybe
They want your money n they want u on public transit

they hate drivers in this city except for the $$

Not where I am. Biggest issue we see is people riding bicycles on the wrong side of the road.

Bicycles riding against traffic are at significant risk for being involved in motor vehicle collisions. Guess who's going come out on top in that one. But you trivialize it, so I guess that's okay with you? You're a real f'ing humanitarian ain't ya?

Robert Moses gave us beautiful parkways, state parks and Newsday Accused him of being a Racist, that he purposely built the bridges low so city buses couldn't come out to Long Island and he built the parkways thru minority neighborhoods. I'd say about 10,000 acres of land was saved along the Parkways . Shame how they remember that great man. William Floyd signed the Declaration of Independence. I know you probably know this , Capt. Richie asked who he was.
