Got to the launch ramp in time to witness a beautiful red sky as the sun was trying to come up, couldn’t help but remember red sky in the morning sailors take warning. The forcast wasn’t great, rain showers & 17/25 ssw by 2PM. Got the boat squared away, out the inlet & reach for my coffee mug, dam it’s home on the counter, red sky in the morning. Decided not to run too far due to the forcast, got on the numbers on the north side of Plum, started to put my bibs on, dam my boots are in the truck, red sky again. After a couple drops finally found blackfish, steady action with shorts, with two solid keepers. Only a couple brief rain showers, not bad, then the wind came up almost 3hrs early, that red sky crap again. Just a couple crabs left so decide to stick it out, up comes what may be my third keeper, put him on the board to measure & the slimy devil squirts out of my hands & us gone, red sky. Look around & it’s all whitecaps, a slow ride back through the gut & west to the ramp. No tragedy, but a few small things to make me believe, red sky in the morning sailor take warning. A fun report, but actually a good day……..John
