Repowering question

I have been back and forth with the company. The last response had me curious. They said that 225 hp was max single available and twin 200 was max. Ok I already knew that. But they said I couldn't even put twins on the back of my boat because it was already set up with the single. For the twin application it was a different transom than for a single.

Does this make sense that a company would have to make 2 different boats (1 for single motor other for twins) that they ship to the dealer. Then the dealer would have to check off the box as to weather they plan on selling it with 1 or 2 on the back. Seems like it wouldn't be the best business model. Just make the one transom that could hold either.

Nothing is ever easy. SMH

I does make sense as there are infrastructure for wires and steering differences between single and double engine set ups. I'd also guess the transoms themselves could be structurally different in terms of stiffening, etc.

Look at the bright side, you just saved a ton of money!!
