rod and reel pairing

Hi . I am thinking of pairing a st croix inshore mojo spinning rod {MIS 70mf rated 8--17 lbs. lure size 3/8- 3/4 oz.} with a daiwa bg 2500 or 3000. Difference in reel wt. is about 1.5 oz.
The set up would be used to cast for fluke from the beach. This is a light tackle fishery ( south shore of Staten Island}. I would be tossing a 3/4 oz. bucktail so i would be constantly casting and retrieving. Any thoughts on which reel would work better? Thanks
