I think it’s a waste. With the availability and resources now available in the rod building arena there’s no need. Just my .02.

Strongly agree. It probably wouldn't be a simple add, either. To make it work pretty much all the guides would have to be repositioned. And then you would still have a cheapie rod, albeit with more guides.

Buy 'good" up front, if at all possible.
