Cabo Sailfish Report – Four Billfish Released Near the 95 Buoy
October 5, 2026 – 4 Sailfish Released – Cabo Fishing Report
Offshore anglers know how quickly a quiet stretch of ocean can change once billfish enter the spread. On October 5, a large group fishing with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours experienced that excitement during a six-hour run off Cabo San Lucas.Fifteen guests were divided between two serious offshore platforms: the 50' Viking Blue Ocean and 43' Riviera Blue Sky.
The boats fished from 7:00 AM until 1:00 PM, concentrating their efforts near the 95 Buoy.
By the end of the charter, the combined score was four sailfish caught and four successfully released.
Cabo Fishing Report Tracks the Offshore Numbers
For Northeast fishermen accustomed to watching water temperature, bait concentrations, current and offshore structure when hunting tuna or billfish, the location is an important part of this report. The charter log specifically identifies the 95 Buoy area.
October 5, 2026 | 6 Hours Fishing
15 Guests | 2 Sportfishing Yachts
50' Viking Blue Ocean | 43' Riviera Blue Sky
Fishing Zone: Near 95 Buoy | Sailfish: 4
Released: 4 | Release Rate: 100%
This was a combined two-boat result. The log doesn't allocate individual sailfish to either yacht, so we're not going to manufacture a boat-by-boat score.
Cabo Sportfishing Catch Comes Without Dredges
Another interesting detail was the group's decision to decline the optional dredge program aboard both boats.Northeast offshore anglers understand the attraction created by a dredge. Building the appearance of a concentrated bait school beneath a trolling spread can add another dimension when targeting pelagic predators.
Yet on this particular morning, the crews generated four sailfish catches without that additional equipment.
The exact lure colors, individual baits and hookup sequence weren't recorded. Those details are therefore intentionally left out rather than reconstructed later.
What can be confirmed is much more useful: six hours of fishing near the 95 Buoy produced four sailfish encounters that ended in successful catches.
Cabo Fishing Charter Completes Four Releases
With 15 guests, operating two yachts also provided substantially more cockpit room and two independent fishing platforms.Breakfast, bait and fishing licenses were included, along with onboard hospitality and an Arch visit.
But this fishing report ultimately comes down to one statistic that matters beyond the day's catch count.
Every billfish went back.
Four sailfish caught.
Four sailfish released into the Pacific.
For anglers following Cabo's October offshore fishery, that's another documented 95 Buoy result worth recording.
FINAL: 6 HOURS | 4 SAILFISH | 4 RELEASED | 100% RELEASE
