Saturday 7-31

went out of Jones Inlet at low tide around 7:00 am with calm conditions. Stayed local as the boat synchronizer was acting up so the boat wouldn't go more the 2800 rpm's. Many boats were lined up right outside the inlet along the beach presumably shark fishing in the bunker pods. We stayed away from the fleet fishing the reefs and did well in 40 - 60 feet of water with keeper fluke, sea bass and porgies, we also had a blue fish. Don't be afraid to find your spots away from the reefs and the fleet. As the wind and swells picked up we headed in, back at the dock by 2:00 p.m. Their was a report on the radio of Tuna in 60 feet of water in a certain area outside of JI but that is unconfirmed.
