shorts and one weak for dinner

Definitely getting some biteoffs of my precious Gulp this week. One bite was so smooth I wondered if it was a snapper. Has anyone seen them yet ? I used the tail end of a white and chartreuse 3" paddle tail that was not quite ripped in half to entice a 17" weak for tonight's cuisine. (Been grilling them in a aluminum foil "canoe" generously covered in Lawry's herb and white wine marinade.) Although the little tail was on a 3/4oz lead buck dressed with pink silicone skirts, it was a "short" presentation, and it ended up in the gill area, causing a LOT of blood to gush all over my swim trunks, my kayak and my net. First time I towed a fish home that was not still alive on the stringer. Also had 3 short fluke from 13 to 17". Won't get out again until the weekend or after. Tight lines all !

Last time I had blue claw crabs hanging on the gulp but they kinda just make holes in the gulps unless they really latch on then they will cut them in half hope the weakfish tasted good grilling them is the best

These biteoffs looked like tiny curved scissors. Will hopefully have more morning action late this week with better tides.
