It certainly was an adventure back then.

The section where the interboro and Grand Central pkwy met was called connecting hwy. In the 70s, they would race muscle cars for pink slips along this stretch. I could hear the cars from Astoria!

No 311 or internet to break things up either.

Glad you mentioned that. Seems like every other car in crooklyn has a temporary plate, out of town plate or obstructed plate. Sometimes all of the above!

I was selling a car and asked the buyer if he needed DMV forms. He said no, he bought it for his daughter who got a DWI and he was registering it in Florida at the grandma's address.

Maybe it was an ROI calculation, as speeding in a construction zone lets them double the fine!!

I see more and more people doing things to their license plate to make it unreadable by cameras: scratching paint off, tape over a number or 2, reflective covers.....is that even legal?
