Incredible new pictures show US Stealth Bombers in formation while flying over the White Cliffs of Dover.

The dramatic images capture the B-2 Spirit aircraft tearing across the UK's beaches.

They also were also joined by the RAF’s F-35 Lightning jets in the first dual training mission between the US and UK of its kind.

Group Captain Richard Yates, Chief of Staff at the UK Air Battle Staff said: “We’re delighted that the USAF and 501st Wing Bomber Task Force are here in the UK and that our F-35 Lightning pilots have the chance to fly alongside and train with the B-2 bomber crews.

Defence minister Mark Lancaster said: “NATO is the bedrock of Euro-Atlantic defence, and those secure foundations continue to be reinforced by the training exercises being completed between the Royal Air Force and our special friends in the US Air Force.”

bought one & sent it back - need a smartphone app to operate it - no smart phones here

Shocking!!

Although I'm getting a little concerned about manufacturers abdicating device control from manufactured controllers to Apps run on second party's devices.

47 years ago the final Apollo moon mission returned to earth, the last time man walked on the moon. Here's a photo of the LEM "Challenger" returning to dock with the Command Module for the return to earth. You can actually see astronaut Gene Cernan at the controls through the window.

Granted these things were designed and built by Grumman on LI for flight in the vacuum of space and they had to be light, but check out how the aluminum panels are all buckling and flexing. They said that the sides were nothing more than thick aluminum foil and they were definitely correct. Those astronauts had some cajones!!

Iran is operating Tomcats still that we sold the Shah in the '70's & the Marines are still hanging on to the Harrier until 2025 when it will be officially retired.
Considering we stopped shipping parts to Iran when the Ayatollah came to power in 1979, how many of those F-14s are still operational? I'd hazard a guess that only a small percentage can still fly...

Did not know about the Marines, I know the Brits will have retired the Harriers by year end.

All great aircraft, just a damn shame that they're sitting in the Arizona desert...

They claim combat ready - most don't agree though it seems. At least on this side of the border.
