the "Headline That Caught My Attention or the WTF" thread

I have not seen it, but my understanding is that one way a lot of these people came together and associate the damage to their vessels is through FB.

Your Home Depot comparison has already been settled in case law. Unless there was a witness, or cameras that can identify the culprit responsible for hitting your car, you’re just chit out of luck. And they are not required to have cameras. You may have a case against Home Depot however if their parking lot, spaces, etc. were not designed and built up to architectural standards.

Oh good. A forum for whiners. Is there a MyFace forum for people who have been aggrieved at HD or in Zach's Bay?

BTW, even if there were cams in the parking lot, or in the car, what do you think the odds are of any authority cooperating in finding the perpetrators?

Don't worry. I'm sure your victims will get a "shut up and go away" settlement to get replacements for their tired upholstery.

AFAIK, currently there are only two "victims," but I'm sure that once the smell of money is in the water, more sharks will come along.

BTW, if you can identify by film footage who hit your car, your insurance company could get in touch with them and put the cost of the damages against their policy.

Sure. If they have insurance.

You're missing the point. Trivial damages are trivial until they can make somebody with money accountable.

Otherwise, fu¢# you. Eat it.

Sadly, in this case the taxpayer's pockets are deep, so we need to hang somebody.

Trivial damages? Marine upholstery is very expensive. It can cost many many thousands of dollars to have a few seats and other misc items repaired or replaced.
