the "Headline That Caught My Attention or the WTF" thread

So how many kids have to die by these people before they are considered a menace and given the mental help they need? I’m posting a pic of (((HIS/HER)))Tic-Toc file so you can see the obvious.

Guns Don’t Kill People, The Mentally Ill Do.

Some people import cheese, some people import service workers.
This article assumes everyone who crosses the border does so illegally. Had anyone taken the time to read the source material one would see:

On Monday, dozens of people gathered at Brunswick Landing to celebrate 60 new apartment units going up in five buildings. Twenty-four of them are already complete. These units are designed to house asylum seekers, as they wait to receive work permits. That process can often take a while, since asylum seekers can’t even file for a permit until at least six months after filing their initial asylum applications.

The state has been diligent in ensuring that the folks here are documented asylum seekers. Our Federal reps have been proposing legislation to accelerate the ability to have these asylum seekers to be legally employed. They want jobs, and there isn't a single business sector here that isn't screaming for workers.

That being said, Jack is pretty spot on, as with all the seasonal jobs up here, Maine is very aggressive in getting work visa as a basic step to help the hospitality industry. Crazy, but few teenagers get summer jobs, and God forbid somebody from Lawnguyland faces a long line at the ice cream shop in July!!

Asylum seeking is the opposite of what they came for and that Ice cream shop is not going to vet a wetback. If you read it then you missed the in-your-face part (to House asylum seekers). Takes years to vet, not months.
As far the hospitality bs [
As of 2023, it's estimated that there are approximately 749,000restaurants in total in the country.

We’re up to Ten million illegal aliens in three years, that’s over ten to one restaurant.

The instructor had to take several days off because someone said a bad word. Wasn't even directed at him. Da fuq? What ever happened to "sticks and stones etc." At least the court got a clue.
You want to take odds on the instructor was a alphabet?
Kudos to Carl winning that suit and pointing out there is no freedom of speech and if your White you’re under attack.

Interesting as I think Maine has programs to help find low income LEGAL residents housing. If I heard correctly, some have been waiting a bunch of years. So ILLEGALS jumped the line??

Not quite, the people "in line" for these houses are folks who are asylum seekers, typically from Somalia, not from Central or South America, who were brought in under sponsorships by church-based and other humanitarian groups in Maine. They are not "shipped" here on buses from Texas or California, at least not yet...

I know that some folks assume ANYONE who has just entered the states must be illegal immigrants, but that isn't always the case. Of course if moaning, pissing, and whining about that gives pleasure, they can have their way with it. Kind of like constantly posting the picture a high-ranking person in the US Public Health Service in uniform, trying to imply that She/He is an USN Admiral. Most people would fall for that, but it isn't always the case..

No matter how you cut or spin it, our current immigration policy is, and has been a disaster for well-over a quarter of a century and both parties are to blame, as nobody had the guts and/or fortitude to do anything about it.
