Calculating the financial windfall I'm getting due to this Maine court ruling, LOL. Alas, the price of unprocessed rockweed is very low so my commercially-paltry holdings are worth pennies. At least I have no problem getting enough weeds for lobstah bakes and to keep the sandworms I dig happy. A commercial harvester did come up the river once, but stayed a bit downriver from my "holdings".

Maine is one of the few states where tidal property owners own the land all the way down to the mean low water mark, although one cannot keep people from "fishing, fowling and navigating" over these areas and the court decision was that rockweed harvesting was not akin to "fishing".
