The never ending chat thread, chat about anything That your up too

All our servers are on the cloud, so we've got nothing to work with.
We are all twiddling our thumbs for the moment.
Isn't technology grand.......................
Cloud, we don't need no stinking Cloud!! The Cloud is an anathema to me...

NOTHING of mine is out on a Cloud, just like there's NFW I'll ever
get a 23&Me or AncestryDNA test. My private data and DNA will be as controlled as I can keep it, which does get lesser and lesser over the years.

Here's the Roccus Cloud, 2 Synology NAS redundant servers with instructions for my daughter to take care if I unexpectedly head off to the Great Rip in the Sky. And yes, the data NAS is backed up every night, while the Music one gets backed up every 2 weeks, with those data stored on a local USB drive.

You are one person. Imagine the room needed to run dozens of applications let alone the storage of that data.

Having some well-earned 3 Advil and a Margarita Chaser from today's clamming exercise.

Had a nice dig today on the King Tide, and then there was a surprise that would have driven Michael Corleone crazy...

Clam digging was OK, and monster oysters relatively abundant, but forget it if you want small ones...

And then the surprise... During 1 dig in sand above the water level, out popped the biggest sandeel I've seen which was nice, but not the "surprise". The surprise was a 1 inch winter flounder, and so it restarts, the up to now futile attempt to catch a flounder...
