Watering not an option when you're on a well near salt water. You dry out your well, and the salty stuff gets in. Nobody warned one of my neighbors and he watered his new lawn only to find salt water in his water lines...

That's a variable. There's no "cistern" per se, you're drawing off the aquifer that you drilled into, along with how much water is sitting in the drilled shaft. I can get out 5 gal/min, which is good, not great, and my well is 350' deep. Needless to say, me well is a crap load deeper than the salt water around me, especially since my house is only 40' above MLW.

I find it a good thing, nothing like having a valid excuse not to bother watering your lawn and with this drought, I'm mowing like once every 3 weeks, even mo' betta!!!

I just heard on the news an 18-year-old kid in the Bronx was stabbed 3 times , then doused with gasoline and set on fire. He died on the way to the hospital.

WTF is wrong with people ?
 
Sometimes the Admiralty doesn't issue direct orders, just some vague suggestions like today, "You know the basil is getting very over grown." After checking the naval code book, that means, "Dom get your ass out there, pick the basil and make some pesto!"

Some suggestions are followed more happily than others like this one. After I finished I decided to try a new "Burger della Casa" so I scraped what was left in the food processor, tossed it on a burger I had on the grill and topped it with a piece of fresh mozzarella. It was damn good! Pasta with the pesto tonight!!
