HAPPY? Columbus Day

When the Europeans arrived, carrying germs which thrived in dense, semi-urban populations, the indigenous people of the Americas were effectively doomed. They had never experienced smallpox, measles or flu before, and the viruses tore through the continent, killing an estimated 90% of Native Americans.

in 1530's when Spain, under Pisaro, invaded Peru, they wiped out all of the natives...the INCA civilization was lost forever. They were perhaps the most advanced civilization in terms of mathematics, engineering and architecture. The Spanish brought disease (smallpox), genocide and war to an advanced civilization.

And your point is?

The point is the past always has to be seen through today's PC prism, which is more than a bit absurd.
With the diversity push, they were doomed from the start - they would have caught the diseases eventually, no matter what.

just got stung by a bee in my kitchen while cooking breakfast....

Was at the stove cooking some eggs when I felt something walking in my hair.

Grabbed it & headed for the door to release whatever it was outside & felt a sharp prick & some pain in the palm of my hand at which point I just squeezed my hand & squashed it. When I opened my hand I saw it was a bee!!

WTF did that come from??

Spot where he/she got me's a bit red & itchy now. 1st time I've been stung in probably 50 years.
