the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

Thinking I might go with the paintable stain like I used on the sheds so I don’t have to stain it almost black as the darkest shingles are.

Just removed two skylights from my 3 seasons room in the back of my house. What a bitch! One of them had rotted, wet wood at one end. Ripped all that out and replaced it. Closed up one with plywood and roof cement. Put a cross brace in and screwed it down. Put a cross brace in the one with the rotted wood and I’m letting it air out. Will close it up tomorrow. Then felt on both and I’ll put the new roof down.

Damn it was hot up there! This is step one. Next is demoing the room and getting someone here to do sheetrock and taping. If anyone has someone good in Westchester shoot me a PM.

Shaking my head, most of you know that I’m a quiet type guy but I just couldn’t keep quiet just now... I’m down at the boat doing some waxing

A couple of dudes, a girl and a dog walk by and jump on their bow rider a few slips down from me. I said good afternoon without a nod or a hello in return... no worries, I’m used to that. So I’m going about my business and I hear them crank up the engine. The kid didn't lower it yet. So I’m thinking to myself, I’ve done that once but I trim it down and or shut off right away...?
Well this kid18-19 my sons age, with his crew in the bow is putting in reverse. So I shout out...Yo!! You gotta lower the engine in a polite but urgent tone... so he fumbling around and trying to hear what I’m saying and finally say or shout shut her off!!!?The kid does and I say without trying to embarrass him in front of others...you gotta lower the engine, it needs the water to pump thru it, don’t want to burn it up...Not to mention it “moves the boat” better when it’s down. ?But I didn’t have the heart. So the kid say to me... Oh yeah, good move, this all kinda new to me...again?. Hope they get back ok.??
