The big PITA for the winter is that you don't need the AC, but you need to defrost the windshield - it'll be fogging up without the condenser/compressor.

Waiting for my son and his fiancé to get here grilling and chilling tonight. Tonight they sleep in their new home for the first time and I live in an empty house.

Today was the first day that really felt like damn, we are deep into fall. Blackfish season after a great day yesterday with Capt Mike and now its cold, windy, lots of trees with no leaves, etc
Time for a nice fire
Not quite ready for the woodstove yet so built a nice fire in the small fireplace in the den
Feels great!

Cancelled my son was waiting for a friend to come unload a dresser from his truck, and the guy won’t be there till after 8:30. So we will try again tomorrow

I've been thinking the same thing - never came out of the 50's today - which is chilly for here once you acclimate to the area you're living in. For me - that's been 13 years.

Holding off on firing up the stove as I'm waiting for "a gent" to come by & replace the fire brick & replace the fan (making noise last season when on low).

For right now I've got the thermostat set at 65 & I'm wearing a sweatshirt over a long sleeve tee.
I'm still chilled.

1st wood delivery scheduled for next week. Have to locate a HS student who'll stack it in the wood shed & do some splittin'

Spine won't allow me to do that without sending me back into the hospital.
