figured the way Mike eats he's already made 14 or 15 stops for something to eat - may be why he's not here yet - should have arrived by now - told him to give me a call when he hit the VA border (about 30 miles north of me) - it's normally a 6 hour drive - he left at 2 so...............

did save 1/2 a white pizza - so he does have that....................

waiting for Chevy - he just called - crossed the VA border - about 30 minutes away..............

took him 2 hours to get clear of NY - apparently he & the missus have been guzzling coffee the whole way & are too wired to spend the night - they're gonna stop for awhile & then take off & see how far the coffee buzz gets them...

going over to the Brit's building to host the Board of the Main Street Initiative Group on a tour of the building. Beginning to fulfill the new position the Mayor asked me to fill. Liaison between the MSI & the Planning Commision.

Going to watch the news at noon, then go grocery shopping before the "Big Storm".

I just bought a guitar...............

I've had the itch for awhile now.

Used to play many many years ago (probably 40+) - mainly bass guitar - but enough experience on the 6 string to retain enough of it (played in bands you see as a bassist - originally learned on the 6 - sometime would switch on & off depending on the band's need).

Picking it up tomorrow. Bought new strings for it today.

Now I gotta find out where I can take lessons. Long enough ago that I remember 80% of it - want a refresher & someone who can improve my playing.

Eastern Shore already has a natural guitar & banjo soundtrack to it so it shouldn't be difficult............

Waiting on my daughter to get out of tae kwon do .....

my daughter was taking that about 15 years ago - she was around 12/13 something like that...

She had advanced to a Brown Belt.
She came home one day & I said "Show me what you can do?"
This turned out to kinda be a bad idea though at the time I didn't know it.

She was like 5.1 all of 90 pounds dripping wet. Not that I was a monster at 5'9 & 150 pounds but......................

"Dad??!??" in that somewhat whiney voice all 12/13 years seem to have.
"No. I wanna see what I'm paying for. Now come on."
"Alright. Come at me like you're attacking me."

So I did.

5 seconds later I found myself on my back on the floor with her knee in my chest & her fist stopped about 4 " from my face.

You hit the nail on the head!!!! You just described my daughter to the T....except my daughter is a black belt
