Rather harsh. Make restitution to the tournaments you cheated and lose your boat. No need to ruin their lives with felony convictions. Just my opinion.

I agree 100%. Yes they brought it upon themselves but they have been humiliated enough.

It dies send a clear message though.

As compared to Hot Tuna that got a 13K fine for KNOWINGLY keeping an out of season bluefin. It's apples and oranges but still the punishment doesn't fit the crime.

Buddy of mine won the LIF dreamboat after 4 guys before him failed the polygraph. Won it with a 4lb flounder caught at Jones Beach CG station.....go figure!

Didn't someone claim they caught the world record fluke a few years back only to learn it wasn't legit? Caught on a dragger.......

We ran the Triple Crown of Fishing from NJ to NH. Flute, bass and blues. There was a new boat ama 30k in prize money. We had thousands of people enter. Only one time over 4 years did the first winner pass. Then I wouldn't pay a guy in NH for failing. Little did I know he was plugged in and had the entries series kicked out of NH. That's when I got out.

It's sad but a little money makes people nuts!

That's why these 50/50 trips are cool. End of the day, everyone pretty much knows who has the biggest fish.
