I stopped riding for a bit now. Besides attending or escorting vets funerals for Franky Bania. I attended just about every funeral I could for all in the biker community. It took its toll I have to say.
At least half dozen accidents a year of people I knew. The clincher that pushed me over the edge and led me to take a hiatus was an accident to a guy from Selden. A new guy to the biker world, not a club guy just one trying to be involved.
I was sent an email and message on fbook that an escort to Calverton National Cemetery from McArthur was going on in about an hour. That was around four A.M. I was sleeping and didn't see the messages. When I got up and seen my email i was like oops missed that one. Then seen the news of one of those escorting got killed. I just had enough.
The group rides. I would go once in a while but I would be one of those flying by to the right and waiting for the group at the end. Someone or two always goes down in those rides.
