Triggers Highlight Mixed Bag

Took a last minute sick day from work and left the dock at 8am to catch slack tide and try my trigger spot for 1st time this season. Good choice! Boated 3 nice ones and missed and dripped a couple before tide started moving too fast. Went to reef and surprisingly got 3 keeper sea bass in the 18” range fairly quick along with a porgy. Switched to fluke for 1 short fluke. Fluke dont want anything to do with me LOL
Tried multiple spots for nothing. By now tide slow enough and back to inlet for 3 more triggers
All in all a good day with plenty of fillets!

Good trip! We were out for a quick 3 hour , 9-12 trip. 4 keepers to 23 1/2” and a dozen shorts with 3 of them 18 1/2”. Fluke belly strips , glow beads and a blade was the ticket. Close enough to the reef to see the fleet

Saw a good size shark ( hammerhead probably) finning and a TON of squid , both cruising and following up and chewing on belly baits, tons of life. Bite shut off like a switch at 11:00 , incoming tide.
