So yesterday I had my trip onboard the Patty Ann, hoping to cash in on the bluefin bite. Got a call from Capt Sunday afternoon and he wanted to start later in the day because of the weather. Leave the house and it's still gloomy and rain, but once we hit the double span sunny skies and dry..GREAT!!... Getting out of the inlet was rocky, but once we hit the ocean we had steady 4 footers. Started off trolling spreader bars and instantly we start getting false Albies (thrown back) hoping to weed through them we continued on them for a bit before switching over to jigs and 1 rod with squid. Again false Albies and some green Bonita. Unfortunately we didn't get any bluefin to cooperate, and after boxing a few more greens the Capt made the call to pull the plug early and give a discount on the trip. Will defiantly try again for bluefin with him.
