Upholstery Snap Removal??

Learned Colleagues:

I have to unsnap the seat cushions on my helm chair, cushions that have never been removed. I tried and they're not giving up easily so I'm leery about using brute force, lest I rip the cushion away, leaving me with the cushion in one hand, and the snaps still sitting on the chair.

Is there a magic, non-damaging, snap removal trick I'm not aware of??

Thanks - R7

After going through the same thing a few years ago I bought a snap removal tool and got them off. (With some spray and wiggling)

Since then I make it a part of my yearly prep to inspect each and every snap on the seats, enclosure, ect. If needed I'll hit them with a quick very fine Scotch Brite then put just a tiny amount of zipper and snap lubricant.

Snap them on-off a couple of times and they won't stick next year ;)

Tap them gently and try and get some spray lube in there
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus
Snap Removal tools

Well the Cany method, along with a very thin bladed, flat screwdriver did the trick. I'll buy that tool kit for next year and lube the snaps when I put things back...

Nice.

Like just about everything I've learned, I took the hard way on this one too. You fared much better than I did a few years ago. I broke off three snaps.

Then I bought the tools and some zipper lube.

Yeah vaseline on the .. Oh nevermind. :)

I use Bees wax only because i can paste it on and not worry about the heat melting it down. (We have Sooo much heat up here. ?
