Weaks still around

after a three or four week period where I hardly caught a fish, I have been taking home a 20" or slightly larger each trip. Half as many as last year but first it was the wind, and then it was the successive heat waves, so I am really not complaining. Since the last week of July all have been caught livelining snappers. Harder and harder to catch snappers small enough so sooner than I would like, will be switching back to Gulp. Last fluke I took home was before the Fourth of July, but since we vastly prefer eating weakfish, no lamenting the scarcity of the flatfish in the warm backbay waters, although I do wonder if they are there but the weaks are beating them to my offering. (?) Either slack tide remains my favored time, and it usually takes me much longer to get a couple of bait-size snappers than it does to hook into a weak. I was home today at 9am. (Not into torturing fish we can't eat.)

and still getting three to five miles on a bottle of water.;)
