Weather

Seems to me that many Snowbirds need to "brag" about not having to deal with winter weather, and haven't a clue that there are those of us that LOVE winter.

I look at it this way. Once you're down to no shirt and shorts, you can't take anything off so if you're hot, it's into the air conditioned house.

If you're outside and you're cold, you can always put on the long johns, add a fest and wear heavy-duty mittens. There are clothes to deal with even the most extreme cold, doesn't exist for extreme heat.

To each his own. Me? Got the lightweight long johns on, a single pair of alpaca socks, flannel shirt, vest, and light jacked, and will be putting on my shorty boots and lined waterproof gloves later to dig some clams. Sure beats sitting around the house...

Too Bad, your jealousy and fancy wording is all too obvious… wen the arthritis sets in let me what temps are more suitable for healing … btw, a NYA is weather posting 6 times a day, thought I would fill in the blanks… C22…

A period of icing is expected for most areas tonight as precipitation transitions from snow to rain. With cold road surfaces, icy spots could linger a bit after air temperatures rise above freezing. Even trace amounts of ice can result in dangerous conditions. Extra caution should be used if out on area roadways and walkways tonight. #CTwx #NJwx #NYwx #NYCwx

Am I getting too cynical in my quest for being a Jedi Master Curmudgeon in my old age?

Just saw a newsclip of few people pushing a Porsche Carrera up a NJ snow incline and my initial response was, "WTF would you be driving a Porsche in the snow??" I'm sure that if they could afford the Porsche, they could certainly afford an AWD or 4WD beater, and would want that sort of winter transport living in a state that's not a stranger to snow in the winter.

I guess you just can't fix stupid...

I lost my flagpole in a squall in November of 2020. (Stupidly was watching Netflix and didn't take the flag down.) Still haven't decided whether to replace it or not. Do have half a dozen flags for one but digging out the old cement in the garden and mixing new doesn't excite me. Up to 41 here.
