Not sure what ur looking at
NWS forecast for Queens NY and reporting at LGA says 3-5” tonight and 4-8” tomorrow
That adds up to more than 6 no?

I could see why they lowered the amounts the storm is coming during the day and with the sun angle getting higher it will have to be rates of 2 to 3 inches an hour for it to stick

I am near LaGuardia and hearing 6 or less. ,southern queens is a foot. JFK the rockaways are definitely getting a foot or more. Probably get blowing and drifting snow with gusts over 40 mph on the north shore by me. Snowfall rates will be 2 to 3 inches an hour in Suffolk county with wind gusts 60. That is intense. Going to be on with pics of the storm tomorrow. Good night

Pretty sure all of us, depending on where you put the ruler down, will have 0 - 2 feet at the home front.

I'll probably have to dig the generator out, which means a > 3 foot drift, a bonus because I'll be doing that on snowshoes!!

Just went out to get a coffee and some donuts for the kids, not pretty out there. Roads are basically unplowed. Even the service road I live a few blocks over from is not clean. Figured I'd loop around and hop on the highway for an exit. You can barely see the blacktop on the center lane of the Sprain. Saw a Honda Pilot that had spun out backwards off the highway and onto the shoulder/grass he was having a hell of a time trying to get back on the road - like my FIL says "All wheel drive just means all of your wheels slide out of control".

Two plows just did a nice job on my street in Matzohpizza. A bit early since we are expecting a lot more of the white stuff by 3PM. Hopefully they come back ! I have no intention of shoveling my sidewalk or clearing my driveway until tomorrow morning. (Town rules are to clear the sidewalk within 24hours after it stops snowing. ) If I absolutely had to my 4WD Ranger would easily get right through what is there now. But 15 degrees and 20mph winds? Not me.
