I remember this one. Well not first hand.

I was living in the UK at the time & my brother called me & yelled into the phone "Listen to this!! You're mssing it!!"

He stuck the phone outside so I could hear the roar of the wind.
This was also on the British News shows the following morning & being reported on because of its size.

I was a teenager. I think we missed a week of school because of it and all the power outages.

Freezing rain until noon for the city and parts of long island 9am for Suffolk county

That was one hell of a storm in 78, and one hell of a winter. Just prior to the snow coming down the sky actually turner GREEN!!!

Sound around Sound Beach froze up for a good ways off the beach, I was walking on the ice probably 1/4 mile out. Ice also brought in a full-sized bell buoy, including anchoring weight up on the beach...

Still early but looking at the possibility of a big snow storm Sunday and Monday. After a mild week winter will return this weekend.

Could see record highs this week.
