My concern is that this country seems hell bent on just having "green" energy with no real backup. Terrorists or the enemy can easily find and cut the transmission cable from a wind farm. A distant volcano eruption can appreciably block sunlight for months. I just hope that the politicos think of a backup. No different that having twin OBs or a trolling motor or bringing more than one cartridge or arrow when hunting.

I don't think we are hell bent on it and yes things can happen....we have some jokers shooting at power grids these days.....pipelines can be sabotaged which cuts off supply and creates environmental disaster. We will need an alternate to fossil fuel one day....but when is that day?? No one knows!!

Chance of severe thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon. Looks like south of the city is at the highest risk again for severe storms can’t rule out one in queens.

AccuWeather meteorologists will be closely monitoring the Gulf of Mexico as there is concern that a tropical or subtropical system may brew prior to moving onshore in the southern U.S. next week.
