just got off the phone with my brother in Richmond................

He's been without power since last night. He was about 10 miles away from home & as he was returning he saw lightning in the distance. Got home & he said it looked like a warzone. Branches, trees & telephone pole or two down in like a 10 block area around his house. Local weather station saying they got two inches of rain in like an hour.

Looking like a mini tornado. No idea from the power company when it will be back on.

I saw some heavy lightning & big boomers off to the west last night on the other side of "the Pond". Didn't think anything of it.

from the sounds of it very localized which is why they're thinking small tornado possibly....

Pool I swim in next door ( everyday) holding steady the last few days @81*
Last week it was down to 77*

May set a new record this year, pool closes first week in Oct every year, coldest ever was 67*

Not as hot today as yesterday.

Severe thunderstorm watch until 11pm. Most of the storms are north of queens right now. Just some thunder here not much else

Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding is possible this afternoon and early evening. Most alerts once again will be north and west of NYC. Just heard thunder here in queens

Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Main threat is downpours. Most of the activity is north of queens again. Looking at the marine forecast for this week Tuesday night thru Thursday afternoon 4-6 feet and Thursday night 5-8 ft
