Interesting how we "hyper focus" on hurricanes, blah blah blah. And this system just set up in a way to release maximum amounts of water in a relatively compressed time period, and in my mind, very little warning.

This is crazy omg. I had the sewer capped so I should be fine. My next door neighbor had the sewer capped also but he has foundation flooding my other neighbor has sewer backup. Park slope is closing in 10 inches. BQE There are water rescues and grand central Also.

The context of this was regarding the media. Heard it was going to rain, but not to this capacity until it was happening.

I had the alert for 3-5 inches yesterday. Some of the flash flood warnings I heard today had rates close to 3 inches an hour.

I think its more a matter of people tune out when other people and outlets cry wolf and get all worked up
The information and predictions were there all over the media I saw last night. All NY local TV stations were yammering about it

People like to complain. One day its stop all the hype, you screwed up the forecast. The next day its hey how come you didn't tell us this was gonna happen
