A dangerous coastal storm will begin to impact the region this Sunday and linger into Tuesday. Heavy rain, urban flooding, coastal flooding, wind damage, and power outages are threats.

When is this starting? I kinda scrapped my evacuation plans

Strong winds still 20 to 40 mph. we have past high tides in freeport to Lindenhurst to Mastic. Reports of minor flooding in spots. The highest tide looks to be Monday afternoon. Tide is forecast to rise 1 to 1.5 feet above what it was during Sunday afternoon high tide. power outages now 673. Rain totals as of 5pm .25 to .50 inches. Rain is expected on and off through Tuesday. thunderstorms are possible in Monday.
